The RevMan 9.13.0 release includes the following changes:
New features and improvements
- There is a new Flexible review type for reviews with a mixed question type:
- It supports pairwise meta-analysis.
- It has a flexible heading structure.
- Study characteristics and risk of bias items can be configured by the user.
- You can no longer add new reviews of the type Rapid
- Cochrane rapid reviews not yet submitted by 17 November will either be converted to the intervention review type or to the new flexible review type. Read more about the review approach.
- Improvements to PICOtron to support the generation of Cochrane Clinical Answers. (Cochrane only)
Bugs
- Resolved error preventing GRADEpro from syncing with RevMan when the SoF table included the ampersand character. (Cochrane only)

The RevMan 9.12.0 release includes the following changes:
New features and improvements
- Improvements to the dynamic analysis results:
- A warning is displayed next to the result when the result has changed, allowing authors to check whether the surrounding text needs editing.
- The results use mathematical negative signs instead of hyphens for negative numbers.
- The results use commas to separate thousands in numbers with five or more digits.
- A ‘copy’ icon allows to quickly and easily copy the review title from the review page in RevMan and the portfolio page.
- The word count for the Abstract and Plain Language Summary is displayed in each section in both default and full-text view.
- Manual-input analyses: Group and graph labels are editable in a separate pop-up window that is accessible from the analysis group editor screen.
- Links to the old Cochrane website have been updated to redirect to the new website.

The RevMan 9.11.0 release includes the following changes:
New features and improvements
- PICOtron has been replaced with a new Portfolio option for downloading clinical answers available to users with Cochrane Portfolio access. This removes a dependency on the RM5 format. (Cochrane only)
- Continuous outcomes with a mean that are missing from the review criteria section upon study data import can now be added straight from the import validation screen.
- The direction of the outcome can be selected when adding an outcome as part of adding a new study result.
- Risk of bias import shows an error when the import file is missing one or more of the risk of bias domains defined in the review criteria section.
- Formatting is retained for analysis names, subgroup names and group labels on export.
- Technical: Text sections missing from the test and training environments after the data refresh have been aligned with the content in the production environment.
Bugs
- All stack traces for errors are logged to facilitate troubleshooting of support cases.
- Performance has been improved to enable large DTA reviews to load within an acceptable time.
- Fixed an error that prevented reviews from moving to the Complete tab of the Portfolio when setting the project status to ‘never assess’.

The RevMan 9.9.0 release includes the following changes:
New features and improvements
- You can now mark warnings as considered if they are not relevant for your review, see the updated KB article for guidance.
- It's now a breeze to change the order of your analyses as you can drag and drop analyses within and between analysis groups. Analysis groups can also be re-ordered using drag and drop.
- We've substantially reduced the time it takes to create a new review in the Cochrane organization.
- The text editor has been updated to a newer version of CKEditor 5 leading to smaller performance improvements.
Bugs
- We've fixed several issues with dialogs in units page including ensuring that you don't need to refresh to see new reviews created.
- We've ensured deletion of reviews for individuals with expired subscriptions does not happen if you have renewed your subscription.
- Control characters (with characters codes < 32) are now filtered out from pasted content and no error is displayed.
- Issues with adding comments on table heading have been resolved (comments feature available on request, contact support@cochrane.org)
- It's now possible to reply to comments from other text sections without blocking editing of the text section (comments feature available on request, contact support@cochrane.org)

- The maximum number of open invitations allowed at any one time for a given review has been raised from 10 to 20.
- The search date is now displayed in UTC.
- Date editing of protocol/review first published dates has been improved for system administrators and Cochrane Support (Cochrane only).
- Editorial Manager contributions are updated in CRM when all the required reviews are completed (Cochrane only).
- Performance improvements: The number of actions requiring a service account token has been reduced.

- Introducing more granular permissions to reduce number of people with org admin permission in RevMan in the Cochrane organization:
- Read access to Cochrane Portfolio: this permission means that the user can search for any review in the Cochrane organization and open them to view. It is not possible to edit any content related to the review and none of the portfolio features are available. It is also not possible to create or delete reviews.
- Write access to Cochrane Portfolio: this permission means that the user can search for any review in the Cochrane organization and open them to edit if there is an open project for the review. It is not possible to create or delete reviews and none of the portfolio features are available.

- Changes to permission model to reduce the total number of roles in Keycloak in order to improve performance.
- Organization settings now include the option to allow unit leads to delete reviews in their organizational unit(s).
- Improved handling of EM invitation events to ensure that after daily batch processing of invitation events:
- The 'submission due' chip is displayed correctly on the review dashboard and the review is unlocked when there is an open invitation to submit.
- The 'submission due' chip is updated when there are changes to the submission due date in Editorial Manager.

- Restricted Maximum Likelihood (REML): This method offers a more reliable estimation of heterogeneity variance.
- Confidence interval for heterogeneity variance: The use of Q-profile statistics helps convey the uncertainty in the estimate and provides an indication as to whether there truly is heterogeneity.
- Hartung-Knapp-Sidik-Jonkman (HKSJ) method: Designed to deliver more accurate confidence intervals for the summary effect.

The RevMan 8.8.0 release includes the following changes:
New features and improvements
- Managing roles on the review as a unit lead or organization administrator is now easier:
- Author support role can be managed to grant access to edit the review without changing the author byline.
- One dialog for related actions: adding, managing invitations, removing, changing contact person and moving between author and author support.
- Multiple invitations can be sent swiftly.
- You will have immediate feedback when a user is added or invited, to reassure that the operation was successful.
- A P or R icon is displayed next to each review to indicate either the Protocol or the Review/Update stage. Icons are displayed in the RevMan Portfolio as well as on the My reviews page.
Bug fixes
- Subscript and superscript nesting is prevented in text sections to avoid validation errors when processing the files for publication.
