Release final version of RevMan 5

What business value does this roadmap item create? / Which problem is this roadmap item trying to solve?

RevMan 5 needs to be updated to a newer Java version for a number of reasons:

  1. The Java version has to be upgraded for security reasons (as it is, we need to set lower security settings on the Archie server to keep RevMan 5 working).
  2. We need to change how RevMan 5 connects to Archie, so that later on we can transparently switch it over to connect to the RevMan Web back-end.
  3. We are starting to get complaints that people aren’t able to install or run the current version.

The new release will also give us an opportunity to communicate that this is the last version of RevMan 5.

How can the value delivered be measured?

Which assumptions are made in relation to the value?

There is a medium risk reviews will be blocked/delayed because RevMan 5 is so unstable.

What are the dependencies for fulfilling the business value?

CIT team needs to have removed the old check-in/out web service and in Archie.

What are the risks related to this roadmap item?

The new release introduces bugs that require more releases.

What is included in the scope of this solution?
