Reviews submitted to Editorial Manager will be copy edited in Production manager using Fonto where the copy editors will edit the JATS file directly. In order to maintain the level of efficiency in the current set up where copy editors use RevMan Web, RevMan Web should be able to incorporate a majority of changes to the review in RevMan Web to support amendments and review updates.     

How can the value delivered be measured?

Time saved in comparison to manually transferring the content (admin task completed until this is in place).

The central admin task is handed over to group staff and/or authors. (TBC)

Which assumptions are made in relation to the value?

We can incrementally support different parts of the review and that will generate value. 

We can show which changes we cannot apply automatically. 

What are the dependencies for fulfilling the business value?

Knowing what types of changes can be made in copy editing. 

Understanding the time spent on different parts of the review to be able to prioritize iterations.

Example data, ideally from Production, from submissions copy edited in Fonto.

What are the risks related to this roadmap item?

We loose edits due to over reliance on automation. 

Either the copy editing process will change dramatically or using Fonto will be abandoned. 

What is included in the scope of this solution?

Receiving copy edited JATS and incorporating some/all changes into RevMan Web.
