Cochrane methods need to stay up-to-date to for Cochrane reviews to be relevant and considered gold standard.

X proportion of reviews using new method by end of 2023.

Which assumptions are made in relation to the value?

What are the dependencies for fulfilling the business value?

• Approval of implementation by methods executive 
• Epic will only be introduced in RevMan Web when RevMan 5 is retired so a dependency on releasing this feature is retiring RevMan 5
• We should also remove dependencies on RM5jar by starting to use the meta-analysis API instead
• Need to decide approach for how new statistical methods are rolled out (e.g. only in new reviews) 
• Clarified requirements & mockups
• Communication, KB updates and training dependencies for launch
• Test data and calculations described before development starts

What are the risks related to this roadmap item?

• Introducing more complexity than necessary for analyses options by adding conditions for different options to be selected
• Old reviews have old statistical methods/work to convert old reviews to use new method costly. 
• We may need to implement an optimization formula (REML) which will be time consuming, verify that we can use external library

Description of which methods will change and scope in Update statistical methods in RevMan. 

How much time do we estimate to implement this epic?
