How can I access a review in RevMan Web? (Editorial Staff)

Accessing a review

  • You do not need to 'check out' a review to work on it in RevMan Web. You simply access it online.

Editorial staff right-click on the review title in Archie and select ‘Edit in RevMan Web’.

Authors log in to https://revman.cochrane.org and see available reviews listed under ‘My Reviews’

Reviews are made available in RevMan Web at the request of authors or editorial staff. Please contact support@cochrane.org if you would like one/all of your group’s reviews to be available for editing in RevMan Web. The Community Support team always cc. the Managing Editor when making a review available at the authors’ request (for reviews made available after August 2019).


How can I tell if a review is available in RevMan Web?

Right-click on the review title in Archie. If you see the option ‘Edit in RevMan Web’, the review is available in both RevMan Web and RevMan 5.

When a review is available in RevMan Web, if you check the review out into RevMan 5, this creates a 'Snapshot from RevMan Web' on the Archie History. See Version control and version history (Editorial Staff).



Review properties in Archie

When a review is available in RevMan Web, the review properties ‘General’ tab in Archie will show either as 'Not checked out - in RevMan Web' or in 'Checked out' (see below).



  • Available in RevMan 5
  • Available for editing in RevMan Web (authors and editorial staff may be working concurrently)
  • Checked out by (user shown) in RevMan 5
  • Not available for editing in RevMan Web until checked back in / check-out undone in RevMan 5



Archie search for reviews available in RevMan Web
