Proxy as another user

The Proxy function in Editorial Manager allows you to impersonate another user in the system and see what they see.

You cannot proxy above your own permission level in EM. For example, an author, reviewer or editor cannot proxy as a Managing Editor.

You can use the proxy function to share workload - for instance, an Assistant Managing Editor can proxy as a Managing Editor if the ME is on annual leave.

If you accept or complete a task on someone's behalf while proxying, the system will record the activity as performed by you.

  • Search for a person. Use the yellow highlighted links in the Search Results to impersonate someone in a particular role.
  • To end your proxy session, click Exit Proxy on the top right hand side of the toolbar to return to your own account.
