End or re-open reviewer assignments

Terminate assignments

If you need to make an editorial decision before all peer reviews have been completed, you can choose to Terminate Outstanding Assignments and Proceed. 

You can do this from the Submit Editor Decision and Comments screen. You should only do this if you have let any outstanding reviewers know they do not need to submit comments.

Re-open review

If a reviewer needs to change their decision, and a decision has not yet been made, you can send the assignment back to the reviewer.

• Locate the submission
• Under 'Review Status' > click to view the complete reviews
• Click on the decision term for the reviewer who needs to change their decision
• The reviewer's comments will open
• Select 'Re-open review' to return the assignment to the reviewer
