Declarations of interest

Guidance on assessing declarations of interest is available in the Editorial Guidance Resource under Conflicts of interest and Cochrane Library content. For specific information on compliance checks, see Editor responsibilities.

The Conflict of interest policy for Cochrane Library content (2020) can be found on the editorial policies page of the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews in the Cochrane Library.

As of 2 June 2025, all authors submitting manuscripts must complete the declaration of interest form, available for download from the editorial policy as a Word document that includes submission instructions. The corresponding author is responsible for collecting all author declarations and submitting them alongside the manuscript.

For manuscripts submitted before 2 June 2025, declarations of interest are still collected through the Convey integration in Editorial Manager. Additional guidance on Editorial Manager/Convey that was previously located in the CoI Portal can still be found on this archived page. Please note that some information may no longer be relevant due to changes in the Editorial Manager setup to support the collection of the new forms. If you have any questions, please email support@cochrane.org.
